The little village of Elgol is one of the most photographed parts of the Isle of Skye. The village lies at the foot of the Cuillin Hills and looks out over the sea to the small isles and even the Outer Hebrides on a clear day. Elgol is an increasingly popular destination for climbers and hill walkers of all levels due to its unparalleled access to the famous Cuillin Hills and the various smaller hills dotted around wherever you look.

Elgol is also the ideal location for those who love to be near the sea - the village relies much on the sea for its income with a number of local boats fishing for prawns, lobsters, crabs and clams. Elgol's shore view (which needs to be seen to be believed!) was featured on ITV's 'Britain's Favourite View' program in 2007.

Elgol has a licensed restaurant, well stocked general store and post office. A wider choice of pubs and restaurants are available in Broadford, 15 miles away.
